I spent a few days here in Romania after I flew out of Maine for the end of the first day, sat down to play Cash 2-5. The games are really weak people buy at 200 euros and it's hard to play poker properly.
But what bothered me more was that the locals here know each other and when they come tourists they start to talk about it in Romanian and share information and worse, they all join forces against you. When I do Rays at least I get paid. One of which makes Reese only one or two paying. But with that you can manage.
What happened to my friend Tomer in a side tournament here is a completely different story.
When he was Chip Leader with 400,000 when he averaged 150, he put all in the flop 8 high in the 3-bat box with the Kines against 99. At the turn he got 9 and Tomer lost.
The dealer counted the conductor's chips and had about 200,000. Tomer brought him just as much as the dealer said.
After the chips went through suddenly came the flore (tournament leader) and told Tomer you need to bring him another 20,000. Tomer told him how the dealer could have counted and brought him what he needed. The Romanian florist must be mentioned without the dealer calling him. The flor claimed he saw 20,000 missing and Tomer said he would check the cameras and if he was missing then he would give him. The fluoride said first, bring it to him. Tomer did not agree and asked to see him responsible. Flor said he was the most senior here and took the chips and gave the Romanian player.
Tomer was in the market and asked me what to do I told him they do not have cameras here is a non-casino events hall.
I met Doron from 888 (the Israeli company that ran the event) so I asked him to intervene.
Then the insolent floret told Tomer that he had checked the cameras and was missing 20,000. Tomer said what camera would show me where, he stammered and left the table.
Doron spoke to the senior official here (not the flor, of course) and he checked the matter with the flor.
Of course everyone here said that after the dealer counted the chips and Tomer paid it was impossible to transfer more chips and the action was over. Sure when the dealer did not even call Flor and there was no problem for anyone.
At the end of the event they sent the flora home and the officer said he would not work here anymore.
Again if it was another Israeli player, there was nothing to do against it because you would prove what happened or at all with whom you are talking to if he says he is the senior ?!
But it's fun to know that 888 was handling an exemplary event! On the other hand, it is regrettable that in such places it is sometimes necessary to put eight eyes on the conduct of the tourists against us.
